Yoohoo! Hullo, Family!
I have been encouraged to contribute to our blog. I have no idea what to contribute (probably why I haven't posted in the past). I've never been one of our writers, scribes, tale-tellers, etc. But now I've been prompted and I've been encouraged to inform you all of some details in my life.
I'm in college! As Benjamin Barnes might say repeatedly, "It's so surreal!" (That was for you, Sarah.) It amazes me when I think about it. I remember when the "older generation" was in college, and it doesn't seem like it was very long ago. I remember visiting Columbia International University: we were trolling around campus and crawling through tunnels with Hannah and Kate and their friends. I remember visiting Hudson at Asbury University in Kentucky, and eating at the Copper River Grill. It's weird to remember that Hudson, Hannah, Andrew and Thomas were in INSIGHT now that I've not only been through the same program (same and other) but have also spent a year and a half at another institution. As cousin Anna taught us in high school, tempus fugit.
One of my favoritest things about college life is just getting betterer and betterer at writing and thinking and stuff. I've attached an image to help illustrate how this makes me feel.
Sometimes, when I'm not cramming my head with dates and facts that I don't understand, I have time to cogitate upon the deeper meanings of life, the cosmos, and everything. Though I can't be sure, I think both the cogitating and the facts (I'm less sure about the facts because I don't know what they mean, which doesn't bother me but it does make using them [the purpose of all facts] more difficult) make me intelligenter.
Anyway, all this puts me in an optimal position to give you sound advice, obviously. So here it is:
1. Borrow money from pessimists-- they don't expect it back.
2. Hard work pays off in the future; laziness pays of now.
3. To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism. To steal from many is research.
4. Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
5. The sooner you fall behind, the more time you will have to catch up.
6. If at first you don't succeed, sky-diving is not for you.
Onward.
