Faith's "Year in Song"

Last year, when Emily, Hannah, Kate and Sarah all composed songs to sum up their year, I decided I wanted to do the same thing. However, I waited till January of 2015 to begin. In the blink of an eye, 2015 has come to an end, so without further ado, here is my year in song (It is long, so be warned):

There is hope for me yet
Because God won’t forget
All the plans He’s made for me
I have to wait and see
He’s not finished with me yet

And I know you’re here
And you’re picking up the pieces
Forever faithful

And in my heart I find a need
For him to be my Savior

Father God, I am clay in your hands
Help me to stay that way through all life’s demands
I don’t wanna gain the whole world and lose my soul

And You changed me from what I used to be
Opened my eyes now I can see
You’re making this life so beautiful
And You making me who I’m called to be
Rescue my heart
Now I am free
You’re making this life so beautiful, so beautiful

I guess it’s not what you take when you leave this world behind you
It’s what you leave behind you when you go

Living and dying
Laughing and crying
I know there are long nights
But we’ll make it
With every sunrise come a new light
A soldier coming home from war… and hard goodbyes

Gonna put the world away for a minute
Pretend I don’t live in it
Sunshine gonna wash my blues away

Cause now I’m knee deep in the water somewhere
Got the blue sky breeze blowing wind through my hair
Only worry in the world: “Is the tide gonna reach my chair?”

We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful the mess we are
The honest cries of a breaking heart
Are better than a hallelujah

This world can be cold and bitter
Feels like we’re in the dead of winter
Waiting on something better
But am I really gonna hide forever?

Over and over again
I hear Your voice in my head
Let your light shine, let your light shine
For all to see

Start of fire in my soul
Fan the flame and make it grow
So there’s no doubt or denying
Let it burn so brightly
That everyone around can see
That it’s You, that it’s You that we need
Start a fire in me

Healing rain, it comes with fire
So let it fall and take us higher

You lead, I’ll follow
Your hands hold my tomorrow
Your grace, Your grip, You know the way
You guide me tenderly
When You lead, I’ll follow
Just light the way and I’ll go
Cause I know what you got for me is more than I can see
So lead me on, on, on and on
Just lead me on, on, on and on

Love don’t have to be a bunch a drama
A bunch of knockdown, drag-outs
Cryin’ in the rain
It’s alright to keep it light
Now mama, don’t you think

I’m waiting
I’m waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I’m waiting on you, Lord
Though it’s not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes I will wait

While I’m waiting
I will serve You while I’m waiting
I will worship while I’m waiting
I will not faint
I’ll be running the race
Even while I wait

You're a Good, Good Father
It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are
And I'm loved by you
It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am
