On May 10th our church family with the help of many others put on a prom for those with special needs in our community and the surrounding communities. The festivities lasted from about 1:30 to 5:30. Everything from shoe shining to doing hair, makeup and nails went so smoothly, for it being the very first effort of pulling an event like this off, that I believe God's hand was in it in a special way. Thank you to all those who worked so hard to make it a truly joy-filled, upbeat, enthusiastic event!
Father and Silas were part of the parking team, as is apparent from the bright red vest.
A member of the parking team posing with his two lovely sisters, who
were apart of the "Cheer Team" - those who cheered on the participants
as they were announced and walked down the "red carpet."
I had the privilege of doing several girls' hair. This is Maggie.
Emily was on the nail-painting team, a job she could do sitting down.
Lucy Strickland, Marty and I thoroughly enjoying the dancing
Emily, and Amos who was on the registration team
More dancing!
Father and Maggie danced together quite a bit.
A slight bird's eye view of the dancing
This little set up and the photo station were at the end of the red carpet. All the participants had their photos taken and they were printed immediately.
